The artifact that connects to standard 8 is the instructional strategies booklet. This artifact shows that teachers understand and use a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to develop deep understandings of content areas and their connections, and to build skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways. The instructional strategies booklet allows teachers to engage their students in what they are learning in many different ways. It is important that teachers use these different instructional strategies in the classroom in order to encourage learners to develop a deeper understanding of specific content areas. Students can build different skills to apply their knowledge in meaningful ways. For example, cooperative learning allows students to gain skills in order to work with their classmates as a team. Students are able to learn that they are not only responsible for their work but also need to make sure that they are able to work as a group. These instructional strategies allow teachers to make students’ education more fun and interesting. Students will become more engaged and motivated within their education.

This artifact has helped expand my pedagogical knowledge and will improve my future practice as an educator. This artifact has helped me understand the importance of applying different instructional strategies within the classroom. This will improve my future practice as an educator because it allowed me to become familiar with the different instructional strategies that can be used within the classroom. These instructional strategies will help encourage my students to develop a deeper understanding of content areas and their connections. It will also help my students build many skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways. In the future, I will use these strategies in my classroom to help encourage students to take a more active role within their education. These strategies will also help me meet the learning needs of all students. In my future classroom, I will make sure to apply these instructional strategies when teaching my students.
