Analysis of the Intern by Cooperating Teacher: Sara Neault/Karen Deterding

Professional Development: In what areas will your intern need attention and further development as he/she begins their teaching career?

As with any new teacher, Maya will benefit from continued support in the area of classroom management.

Maya will also benefit from support from her grade level team in the area of curriculum.

Strengths: What strengths is your intern bringing to the profession that are more apparent to you now as he/she completes his/her student interning?

Maya has shown great initiative from the beginning of her internship in my classroom.  She is comfortable supporting students and teaching new content.

Maya is reflective and asks for feedback on lessons taught.  She has consistently applied what was discussed to future lessons.

Maya has a calm demeanor but is easily able to redirect students that become off task.  She is always prepared and has done well to work during the transition of her original cooperating teacher to a long term substitute.  She has used the expertise of her First Grade Team to support her during her solo teaching.  She is an active participant in all meetings and staff professional development.
